In Germany, industrial production has decreased more than expected.
German industrial output dropped by 1.9 % in June 2025 after a decrease of 0.1 % in a decrease of 0.1 % in May. This pointed out the strongest narrowing in industrial operations since July 2024, mainly due to a significant reduction in the production of machinery and equipment (-5.3 %), drugs (-11.0 %) and food industry (-6.3 %). In contrast, energy production increased by 3.1 percent. However, production in intensive energy industries has decreased by 2.2 %. On the basis of three months, industrial production is 2.3 % lower than the first quarter of 2025 in the second quarter. On the basis of annual, industrial activities have decreased by 3.6 % in June and the decline may increase the speed of 0.2 % in May.
