This year, the sun is the pinnacle of the next 11 -year operation cycle. Despite the increasing vulnerability of humanity for solar activity, there is no loss, and even a storm from extremes in May 2024 does not cause much damage.
Solar cycles are studied, but their manifestations are quite obvious. Every 11 years, the magnetic field changes completely – the North becomes the South and the South is the North. In this process, the magnetic activity increases sharply.
Previously, scientists have considered the magnetic behavior of our Sun to be abnormal compared to other stars, in which cycles seem to be much shorter or longer. But the new research in the monthly notice of the Royal Astronomy Association shows nothing unique about this.
By comparing data on 138 stars like the sun, obtained by using some space telescopes for more than a decade, scientists have found suggestions about our sun as it is younger and more active.
We have found some stars like the sun with the magnetic cycles like our sun, but shorter. When these stars get older and slow down, they can evolve into similar cycles as our current 11 -year -old cycle, who explains the Dipak Chakal physicist from McCaori University in Sydney, who led the research.

Therefore, comparing the sun with young stars, the authors have revealed the signs of its aging. And at the same time they look at the bright stars in the future, very useful in terms of planet security.
Professor Richard de Grace, co -author of the study, said. The increasing dependence on satellite technologies, GPS navigation and digital systems connected to each other means that we need such studies to better prepare for the inevitable space-a part of life with an active star.
