Scientists from the University of New South Wales have been able to create confusing quantum conditions for the first time using atomic nuclei. These states, when the two objects act as a single system, as a basis for quantum calculations. The work is published in the scientific journal.

Science: Carry -to -Table States was created at the atomic nuclear level

The main achievement is the researchers who have managed to compel the cleanest and most isolated quantum objects – atomic nuclei – on a scale that can be compared to modern silicon micro -circuits.

Dr. Holly Stemp, a leading author of the study, said we have created the most isolated quantum objects that can interact with each other at the same level that silicon devices are produced today.

Until now, engineers have encountered conflicts: It is necessary to protect the factors calculated from interference and external noise as much as possible, but at the same time give them the opportunity to interact. The nucleus of the atoms are the people who carry the ideal quantum information, but their cleanliness prevents them from connecting them to large systems.

The team has solved the problem using electrons as a special “phone”. The electrons can “spread” in space and links atomic nuclei remotely. Therefore, the interaction of the nucleus is about 20 nanometers – about a thousand times less than the thickness of the human hair.

If you increase the nuclei to the size of a person, then they will be together at the distance between Sydney and Boston. However, we managed to make them communicate, Stamp Stamp explained.

It is important that this scale coincides with modern technologies to produce silicon processors: semiconductor balls in the chip of smartphones and computers of the same size.

The researcher added.

According to Professor Andrea Morello, the new decision was removed by the main obstacles in expanding quantum computers based on nuclear nuclear. They can now be created based on existing micro -electronic production lines.
