President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that TOKİ will build 500 thousand social houses to reduce high rent and housing prices. Erdoğan stated that they will not allow citizens to be exploited.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements on current issues at the AK Party's Economic Directorate Training Program.
Stating that they continue to work to achieve their goals in the economy, Erdoğan announced that they will take a new step to address high rents and housing prices.
“WE WILL START THE CHEAP RENTAL PROCESS”
Erdogan, who announced that TOKİ will build 500 thousand social houses with the new project, details of which will be announced at the end of October, noted that the state will make a rental plan.
Emphasizing that they will not allow citizens to be exploited, Erdoğan said, “We will start the process of cheap rentals.” he said.
Erdogan explained that in the project called the Century Housing Project, they will allocate special quotas for relatives of martyrs, veterans, retirees, families with three children and disabled citizens.
“WE HAVE TAKEN AN IMPORTANT STEP FOR GAZA”
President Erdoğan also said they have taken an important step towards Gaza with the agreement signed in Egypt yesterday.
Stating that Türkiye will have important tasks in rebuilding Gaza, Erdogan said, “It will probably never be possible to eliminate the devastation caused by the genocide, which left 68 thousand martyrs, more than 170 thousand injured, cities destroyed and lives shattered.” he said.

In his speech, Erdoğan blamed the opposition for the protest in Brussels by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
“They intended to act like the Türkiye party, but they didn't even keep their word.” Erdoğan said, “I say this independently of us personally; making the country's president boo his comrades in Western capitals is not politics, it is not protest at all.” he said.

– The global economy has not yet recovered from the impact of the Corona virus shock. Inflation has peaked in the past 60-70 years and production and employment problems continue to cause headaches in many countries around the world. We cannot say that inflation is no longer a concern. We see signs of this in the statements being made.
“We are trying to achieve goals in the economy”
– Even countries that have made certain progress in the fight against inflation have not abandoned precautionary measures. We also need to add to this the hot conflicts taking place in our geographical area. We all know the insecurity caused by the Russia-Ukraine war, now entering its fourth year, on the economy and financial markets.
– Tariff tensions between the US and China have escalated again in recent days, also creating additional pressure. In such an atmosphere, as Türkiye, we are trying to keep our country away from conflict, heal the wounds of the February 6 disaster and achieve the goals we have set in the economy.
“WE HAVE TAKEN AN IMPORTANT STEP FOR GAZA” – Yesterday, we took an important step in stopping the genocide in Gaza, the biggest bleeding wound in our region. As leaders, we demonstrated a strong will. I hope that the four-party declaration we signed will be a new milestone on the path towards lasting peace in our region. – Of course, when we say these things, we do not forget this truth; It will probably never be possible to eliminate the devastation caused by the genocide, which left 68 thousand martyrs, more than 170 thousand injured, cities destroyed and lives shattered. “OUR DESIRE IS FOR GREAT PEACE AND JUSTICE” – We find it very valuable to establish a ceasefire in Gaza. Now we all need to heal Palestine's wounds and bring Gaza back to normal. As Türkiye, we will work towards this goal and with this understanding we will closely monitor each stage of the process. We will endeavor to manage this process responsibly. Our wish is that yesterday's steps will be crowned with a just and eternal peace. – We still have a long way to go. As I always say; Our top priority is to thoroughly solve the cost of living issue. We are determined to achieve our goals despite obstacles beyond our control, such as drought, frost and regional crises. “WE WILL START THE CHEAP RENTAL PROCESS” – We are implementing a very important project related to today's high rent and housing prices. From now on, the state will regulate house rent. In other words, let people come and rent themselves and exploit the people there with high rents, we will not give them a chance, the state will rent these social housing itself and hope we will sincerely initiate the process of low-cost rental. “500 THOUSAND SOCIAL HOUSES WILL BE BUILT” – We will build a total of 500 thousand social houses with this project which we name the Century Housing Project. In our project, we will allocate special quotas for relatives of martyrs and veterans, pensioners, families with three children and disabled citizens. – We will launch housing rental applications for the first time in Türkiye through TOKİ. We will help low-income families breathe a sigh of relief. Our housing project will strengthen our strength not only in social policies but also in the fight against inflation.
