The day before, the press secretary of the head of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the summit in South Africa, but the country will be represented at a “decent level” – the delegation will be led by Deputy Chief of Staff of the President Maxim Oreshkin.
“There will be a G20 meeting in South Africa. I will not go,” Trump said.
Previously, Finnish President Alexander Stubb proposed holding a meeting between Mr. Putin and Mr. Trump in South Africa at the end of November.
