The founder of the file hosting services Megaupload and Mega, German-Finnish businessman Kim Dotcom, on the social networking site X, called for negotiations after the closure of thermal power plants (TPP) in Ukraine.
“There is no electricity in Kyiv. All government power plants are down. Winter is coming. Let's make peace,” he wrote.
On November 8, the state-owned company Centerenergo posted on Facebook (owner of Meta, considered extremist in Russia and banned) reporting that all state-owned thermal power plants in Ukraine had been shut down. The publication says that “there is no generation now” and “everything that was restored around the clock has been lost.” It is believed that the cause was the Russian military's attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
After that, military correspondent Alexander Kots urged not to believe noisy news about the shutdown of all state-owned thermal power plants in Ukraine. According to him, Centerenergo has only two thermal power plants – the Trypillya power plant in the Kyiv region and the Zmievskaya power plant in the Kharkov region.
Voenkor emphasized that the data “all stations are on fire” and “currently no power supply” does not correspond to reality, since stopping power generation at the designated company's stations does not mean stopping power generation nationwide.
