Roskomnadzor has begun introducing restrictions on Apple's FaceTime online calling service, Gazeta.ru writes. Therefore, the Ministry reports that the restrictions are related to the use of this service for organizing terrorist activities, recruiting people to participate in crimes, fraud and other illegal actions on the territory of Russia.

Russian users have been reporting problems with Facetime since early September 2025, although the introduction of previous restrictions has not been officially reported.
Let us remind you that on August 13, the department also started blocking calls via WhatsApp* and Telegram. And on November 28, Roskomnadzor announced “consistent restrictions” in the Meta* messenger, explaining that the service is used by scammers. Yesterday, Roskomnadzor also blocked the popular children's game Roblox.
Details on the format of the restrictions were not available at the time of writing.
