Samsung has delayed the release of the second generation of its Galaxy Ring smart ring. About this report Korean newspaper JooAng Daily.

The IT giant presented its first smart ring Galaxy Ring in early 2025. In January-February 2026, Samsung will hold a presentation of the devices, but contrary to expectations, it will not announce the second generation of the wearable. Anonymous industry sources said Samsung was disappointed with the product and decided to delay its release to a future date.
Insiders say the company appreciates the product's hardware limitations, such as its small battery and flimsy case. Samsung is also pleased with the popularity of another wearable device – the Galaxy Watch smartwatch. Accordingly, the group has no reason to further strengthen its presence in this market.
In addition, Samsung continues to sue Oura. The world's largest smart ring maker complained about its competitors to the US International Trade Commission, accusing them of patent infringement. However, sources clarified that the patent dispute was not the deciding factor in delaying the release of the Galaxy Ring 2.
Previously, Counterpoint Research said Apple's device ranked third in the smartphone sales rankings in the third quarter of 2025. Five Samsung phones also entered the top 10.
