In France, it is necessary to ban children under 15-16 years old from using social networks, said President Emmanuel Macron of this country. Le Figaro newspaper reported this news.

According to the head of state, mandatory age verification will be applied on all social networks, the lower limit will be 15–16 years old. Children and teenagers under the specified age will be prohibited from accessing social networks.
Macron noted that the government will present a corresponding bill early next year and emphasized that he intends to pass it before the end of his presidential term in 2027.
On November 26, it was reported that the European Parliament passed a resolution proposing to set the minimum age for social media registration at 16 years old.
