Sales of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold foldable smartphone have begun in Korea, with the first batch sold out in a few minutes. Journalists found that the cost of replacing a new screen would cost almost half the cost of the device, GSMArena reported.

According to published data, replacing the internal folding screen of the Galaxy Z TriFold in the Korean market will cost at least 1,657,500 won (about 90 thousand rubles). This makes this screen the most expensive component to replace in Samsung smartphone history.
For comparison, for this approximate amount you can buy an iPhone 17 Pro, which in Russia is offered at an average price of 97.5 thousand rubles. To reduce the financial burden on customers, the manufacturer offers a one-time 50% discount when replacing the folding screen. This measure may be specifically requested by equipment owners. Against this background, the cost of replacing an external screen seems significantly lower – 137,000 won (about 7.5 thousand rubles).
Samsung has so far only started selling the “tri-fold phone” in South Korea, where the Galaxy Z TriFold was sold out literally within minutes of being available at 20 of the company's stores. The device is offered for sale at a price of 3.59 million won (about 195 thousand rubles).
