A meeting chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of the domestic electronics industry – the development and production of electronic components and modern integrated circuits – was held in Moscow. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin participated.
Today, it is impossible to ensure economic and technological development and leadership in the fields of artificial intelligence, space, communications, digital technology and quantum computing without a competitive integrated circuit and electronic component base.
“All promising types of modern and special weapons are increasingly demanding more and more demanding on the efficiency of the electronic component base. It is clear that the Russian army must be equipped with smart technology based on our own solutions. This fully applies to the civilian sector,” Vladimir Putin said.
According to the Russian President, the country already has strong scientific schools in a number of fields and is forming a suitable infrastructure for testing and manufacturing electronic products. Today, it is necessary to increase efforts to create a domestic technological platform in the field of microelectronics, Vladimir Putin added. To do this, we need to strengthen positions that already have advantages, and closely integrate the work of scientists with companies and the actual production sector. In addition, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of domestic electronics development management.
