More than 25 thousand evergreen trees were planted in landscape areas of Moscow last year. As Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his social network page, the main work took place on the outgoing highways: Shchelkovskoye Highway, Volgogradsky Avenue and Profsoyuznaya Street.

For landscaping, species well adapted to the conditions of the city were chosen: prickly spruce, mountain pine, Cossack juniper and others. Their dense canopy reduces noise levels, thus creating a natural buffer zone between the road and sidewalk. In addition, conifers look beautiful all year round.
