The Energy Markets Authority has made changes to oil market regulations.

While redefining tariff revision procedures with the revision of the Pricing System Regulations, it also updated the visual and information standards for billboards. EMRA's Regulations on amendments to the Oil Market Pricing System Regulations have been published in today's Official Gazette. Accordingly, while some expressions in the law related to the oil market were updated, the phrase “New Turkish Lira” was changed to “Turkish Lira”. Within the scope of the new regulations, changes in tariffs will be approved at most twice in a calendar year upon application by the license holder or by decision of the Board of Directors. These changes will take effect on the date specified upon approval. Applications will be evaluated within the framework of economic indicators and tariff equivalents and will apply until the approved tariff is suspended for any reason. In addition, the notified tariffs will take effect from the date they are published on the Authority's website, will apply until they are varied or discontinued for any reason and will not require approval. EMRA also clarified the procedure for changing price lists. Accordingly, the price list will be announced within the provisions of the Energy Market Notification Regulations and take effect from the day after the announcement. Another change in regulations concerns price lists at gas stations. From now on, at stations with multiple advertising boards, fuel names, price information, spelling, and images on the boards must be compatible with each other and are not allowed to display different prices. According to the interim article, billboard discrepancies will end until December 31, 2025. Stations will need to edit their billboards before this date. The new regulations will take effect from today.
