Turkstat Institute of Statistics (Turkstat) revealed the basic criteria in determining the ratio of rent by explaining inflation data at the beginning of each month. In September 2025, the increase in rent will become clear with the announcement of inflation data in August.
In the calculation, the 12 -month average of the CPI will be performed as the basis and this speed will determine the legal ceiling increase may be applied in both rental and workplace. Therefore, millions of tenants and servers will shape the increase in official data while updating the lease contracts.
In September 2025, the rental increase rate will be announced on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 10:00 in the August inflation data. This rate will set the legal limit for both housing and workplace rental price.
In August, the rent rate increased was 41.13 %. According to data published by the Turkstat Institute of Statistics (Turkstat), the tenants filled with contracts for rent this month have extended their contracts with an increase of 41.13 %. Therefore, the rental fees are applied in both houses and workplaces that have been updated according to the defined ceiling ratio.
In 2025, the rental increase rate was determined according to the Turkish obligations and effective regulations. The main criterion is CPI (consumer price index) published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat) per month. With the temporary regulation introduced in 2022, the rate of rent increases is limited to the upper limit of 25 % in a period of time. However, with the end of this application by 2024, the average 12 months of CPI takes effect in 2025. In other words, the owner can determine the 12 -month average CPI ratio described.
