Spain reported a trade deficit of 5.98 billion euros in August 2025. This was the largest deficit since January, down from 4.76 billion euros in the same month last year. Exports, mainly energy products (-29.3%); automobile products (-21.8%); It fell 9.3% year-on-year to 24.4 billion euros, a four-year low, driven by declines in shipments of chemical-free semi-finished products (-14.7%) and raw materials (-15.3%). Among the main partners, exports decreased to the EU (-11.3%), US (-30.5%) and China (-19.9%), while increasing to the UK (+4.5%). Meanwhile, energy products (-16.5%); Imports decreased by 4% to 30.3 billion euros, the lowest level in 4 years, due to a decrease in purchases of chemical products (-11.2%).
