The amount of snow covering the capital on Tuesday will reach its maximum intensity at night on February 24. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the leading expert of the Phobos weather center Evgeny Tishkovets.
According to weather stations, the amount of rain that fell during the day was 3 mm in VDNKh, 2 mm in Tushino, 4 mm in Balchuga and 5 mm in New Moscow. In the Moscow region, the heaviest rainfall was recorded in Mozhaisk and Serpukhov – 6 mm each. Previously, Tishkovets predicted snow would continue to fall on Saturday, February 28.
Snow is forecast will last in Moscow until Thursday, February 26. Due to bad weather in Moscow and the Moscow region announced Yellow weather hazard level. The warning will be in effect until 00:00 February 25.
Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports job normal in snowy conditions. No flights were canceled or aircraft were diverted to alternative airports.
