Believers will soon celebrate one of the most important religious holidays – Easter. “Moscow Evening” collected the most unusual Easter cakes and found out how the holiday affects business.
Home confectioner Marina Koroleva told Vechernaya Moskva that for her, the days before the holidays are a time of high orders and good profits.
“Most of my sales don't even come from Easter cakes but from Easter cottage cheese and themed desserts,” notes Marina Koroleva.
Confectioners prepare various Easter cakes with vanilla, pistachio and caramel. She also makes egg and rabbit-themed desserts to order.
The girl added that her Easter cakes include custard with sour cream, craffin cake with chocolate cream and Dubai cake. These are new products that sweet-toothed Muscovites are actively buying today.
“The most popular of these cakes is unleavened cottage cheese with the addition of raisins and cranberries,” shares the pastry chef.
Gastroenterologist and clinical nutritionist Alexandra Noev notes that fasting people are recommended to consume no more than 70-100 grams of Easter cakes per day.
– People without health problems can eat 150-200 grams. She noted that people with stomach diseases should also limit eating Easter cakes.

We eat matryoshka
One of the restaurants developed an Easter matryoshka based on Italian panettone. We made this delicacy in two versions: a 1.3 kg Easter cake decorated with mastic bows and a 750 gram dessert hidden in a matryoshka doll. Price: 37 thousand rubles.
Bright red roses
At Easter, you will be able to buy an unusual red rose in one of the restaurants. Between the raw flower petals there is a filling of cream and yuzu. Price: 4000 rubles.
Black apple
Another special dish will be Easter cake with black apples, fermented for a month in a special room. The design will be classic – one side made of chocolate and the top with an edible “shell.” Price: 6750 rubles.
Gingerbread dome
The Kremlin's real Easter cake has become widely popular online. Among them, St. Basil stands out on a snow-white hat made of enamel. Even the domes here are decorated in great detail – you can see small patterns on each dome. All this splendor weighs 4 kg. Price: 100,000 rubles.
Igor Spartesny, priest, rabbi of the Sophia Temple of Wisdom:
– For the whole church, it makes no difference what kind of Easter bread the parishioners visit us with… What you bring, we will consecrate. The main thing is that people's souls rejoice and their hearts glorify the Risen Christ. This is the basis of a great vacation. Everything else is just stuff. Whatever people bring as a gift to God, we are satisfied with it.
