The project “My Sports Zone” invites Moscow residents to participate in free running training, which many people miss so much during the winter. The snow in the capital has completely melted, and the weather allows you to run along the embankment or in the park, where no one can distract you from your exercises. You can now register for training; it takes place in nine districts of Moscow.

“Running is an effective cardiovascular workout and provides oxygen to the body. And most importantly, it helps burn calories because running is one of the sports that consumes the most energy,” said running coach Valeria Moiseeva.
Running also helps relieve stress: monotonous movement helps restart the brain and reduce stress; Movement releases endorphins.
The hour-long program includes specialized running drills, tempo techniques, intervals and recovery. Coaches will help runners learn the correct running technique and even prepare for competitions or races in which more and more city residents participate. Running is available for athletes of all levels, from beginners to experts.
“But it is important to be careful – beginners need to run at their own pace, distributing the load evenly throughout the entire workout,” advises Valeria Moiseeva. “The most important thing is to monitor your health and recovery between exercises and don't hesitate to tell your trainer if you feel unwell.”
When working out, she says, you should bring a water bottle, extra socks and some fruit to help raise your blood sugar. And of course, dress for the weather as it can still change.
Training takes place in nine regions – in the northwest, southeast, New Moscow and others. Some of the most notable locations are the Luzhnetskaya embankment, the Park named after the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution, the embankment in the Moscow 850th Anniversary Park, and the park in Kolomenskoye. Classes there are held on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and in Luzhniki also on Tuesdays. For those who like to workout early, weekends are suitable; they take place at 10:00, and on weekdays you can run after work at 19:30.
Coaches will help runners learn proper technique and prepare for the race
Fitness classes will help diversify your running workouts – they're available at 40 locations across the region and are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. From the beginning of May, roller sports will appear, where they will teach how to properly stand and balance on roller skates. To register, you need to go to the official website and select a location and time. Training registration is available from 18 years old and you can follow the schedule and learn about class cancellations on the My Sports District project's social networks.
By the way
Independent activities are also underway – in 2025 alone, more than 800 sports fields will be installed in Moscow's fields and parks. This includes about 50 soccer fields, more than 10 street soccer fields, 140 table tennis areas, more than 100 multi-functional areas for different sports, more than 10 skate parks and other sports areas. As Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted, almost every field has its own “outdoor gym” as the city continuously strives to make sports accessible to everyone. New sports fields and complexes have appeared in Otradnoye, near the MCD-4 Kuskovo station, in Green Park on the border of Novogireevo and Ivanovskoye districts.
