Temperatures in Central Russia in February may be below normal climatic levels. The leading expert of the Phobos weather center, Evgeniy Tishkovets, warned the capital's residents about this on his Telegram channel.

He recalled that over the past 30 years, meteorological spring in Moscow usually began on March 21.
“This year, the cold pendulum at the beginning of calendar spring will swing to a state of significant temperature anomalies – the average March temperature over most of the territory of the Russian Plain will be up to 3-4 degrees higher than the climatic standard. Thus, this year's meteorological spring in Central Russia will start a week earlier than expected,” Tishkovets said.
Accordingly, he continued, spring will begin around mid-March, after which extreme spring flooding and widespread flooding are expected. At the same time, the meteorologist added, if it were not for the unusual snow events that act as a natural “refrigerator”, the warming phenomenon would have started much earlier. Experts say that next spring will be quite warm, with a lot of rain in May, and summer will be hotter and drier than 2025, especially in July-August.
Previously it was reported that the highest snowfall in Russia occurred in the territories of Kamchatka, Khabarovsk and Krasnoyarsk. The absolute leader in terms of snow cover is the Kamchatka Territory – where the average snow height reaches 144 cm, and in some places – 168 cm.
