Since their creation, the sculptures have not been restored; they are now in a state of disrepair: the metal frames are corroded, the concrete is collapsed and cracked. The lions themselves are hollow inside, which further complicates the job.

The most severely damaged sculpture on the northern columns was dismantled and transported to the workshop for inspection and removal of casts. On the south columns, they are now removing the mold from the second figure, previously cleaned and coated with a protective compound.

Work is also being carried out on two pairs of gate posts. The official statement said that once the restoration process is complete, the sculptures will be returned to their original location. website Mayor of Moscow.

There are also experts recovery completed Nurturing yard in the Kolomenskoye estate. The facility is located next to the Cathedral of the Ascension of the Lord and the Temple of the Icon of the Mother of God in Kazan – “in the very heart of the historical district of the museum-reserve”. The courtyard was built in the 17th century. It was part of the residence of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, father of Peter I. It took a year to restore. During this time, experts restored the mortar ledge in certain areas and the belt above the column.
