This weekend it will be colder in Moscow than in Khabarovsk

Residents of Krasnogorsk near Moscow endured a mini-apocalypse on Tuesday. It's all because of the Snezhkom indoor ski complex, which has been demolished for several months now. Yesterday, a piece of one of the pillars that they tried to lower to the ground with cables fell from a great height and raised into the air a huge cloud of dust, debris and rocks that “piled up” on the parking lot outside the facility's fence. Cars, surrounding houses and even people were damaged.

The collapse of a ski resort pole almost led to disaster

When we arrived at the parking lot on Krasnogorsky Avenue, it looked like it had been hit. There were rocks and pieces of concrete everywhere and pieces of rebar sticking out of some cars. And the buildings on the other side don't look the best – broken glass, “shrapnel” wounds on the facade of the “glass building” where Hinkal's room is located. By the way, it was repaired just a month ago…

Witnesses said part of the support column collapsed when workers tried to slowly lower it using cables. Everything was recorded on camera – great evidence for investigators.

A “rain” of rocks and debris covered a man walking through the parking lot. By the way, this parking lot is official, marked, and why it was not closed during the dismantling of the dangerous complex is one of many questions. The victim was taken to the emergency room. Another woman had her nose cut by shrapnel in her own apartment: glass shattered. Well, the number of damaged vehicles exceeded one hundred.

Everything happens at lightning speed. On November 11, during the dismantling of the Snezhkom ski complex, part of the support column collapsed. Debris from the structure and construction waste fell on cars parked nearby and on neighboring homes. From the impact with the ground, sand and rocks flew in all directions and covered three parking lots – one paid, one adjacent free and one in the yard of the house.

The owner of the Hyundai ix35 said: “I stood stunned for about 10 minutes and looked at my car. Absolutely all of the “Korean's” windows were broken. A piece of rebar falling on the roof broke it and remained in the cabin. “There were cars here that looked like they were covered in dust, some were slightly damaged, but mine seemed to have been hit heavily. I haven't called the insurance company yet. I think there will be no problem with payment of compensation, this is just an insured event. But what to do now? Everything inside is glass, everything outside is glass. This part of the frame sticks out… No one told me: can I work on that car or will I continue to take photos and videos?”

But the owner of the damaged Toyota Camry remained blissfully unaware of what happened for several hours; he was not immediately informed of the trouble. It turns out that the car of a resident of the Moscow region has been parked in this anomalous area for several months now. To pick up the Toyota, the guy had to postpone the whole day, but what can you do – trouble comes from unexpected places.

Residents of several houses on Krasnogorsky Avenue are in a similar situation. Yulia Mironova tells the story – her apartment was on the 5th floor. Now there are no windows.

“The neighbors called me and said the window was broken. I had a child at home, but thank God, in another room. The same problems kept happening. Something always fell in Snezhkom, the houses shook as if there was an earthquake, cars were also damaged. But before that it was at least close, but this time it flew 500 meters. Imagine with what force it flew from above! A surveyor came to us and said that not only was the window broken, but also the sectional had to be replaced because of the same design. Also, on the other side of the house, the car had somehow bounced back in a strange trajectory.” Other residents said that even before that, due to the demolition of Snezhcom and the continuous collapse of the construction site, a crack appeared in the house.

This is not the first emergency during the facility's demolition. Before that, a worker fell from a height and died, followed by a similar collapse, but on a smaller scale, causing more headaches for car owners – 3 cars were damaged. But people continue to park under the construction site fence. What to do: this area is seriously lacking in parking spaces.

According to Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the Head of the Main Investigation Department of the Moscow Regional Investigative Committee, a criminal case was prosecuted under Article 216, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (“Violation of safety rules in construction work”). The Krasnogorsk metropolitan district administration appointed the contractor responsible for the demolition, Razvitie LLC. The organization's portfolio includes many objects, the dismantling of which appears to take place without noise or dust. Why did everything happen to Snowball? Furthermore, Krasnogorsk residents have repeatedly asked for their protection from construction work, claiming that demolition in such a “shocking” way is dangerous for the surrounding area. Alas, they were never heard.

EXPERT OPINION

According to the Director of the National Association of Dismantling Organizations, Evgeniy VASILKOV, cheap and dangerous technologies were used to dismantle Snezhcom.

“According to modern regulations, structures over 30 meters high must be dismantled by robots. And while the robots are working, they are monitored from a safe place by an operator who has in hand a remote control for the robot and a quadcopter, filming the whole process at high altitude,” the expert explains. — At lower altitudes, demolition excavators with hydraulic shears will work to “bite” separated parts. And finally, use a demolition excavator with a hydraulic hammer. Then the debris discharge area will not exceed 5 meters.

In the case of Snezhkom, workers allowed themselves to do dangerous work at high altitudes.
