Donald Trump refused to meet with Vladimir Putin in Budapest, noting that he “waited too long for Moscow to take reciprocal steps,” so “I don't want to waste time.” Whether it is a coincidence or not, the change in tone has led to severe sanctions against our country's largest oil companies. Read about how the unpredictability of American leadership influenced the course of world history.

The mask is off. Trump shocked the entire planet. Will the US hit Russia where it hurts?

Completely “dismantle” Square

The news that the head of the White House suddenly unilaterally canceled the meeting with his Russian counterpart in Budapest, the preparations for the meeting, which, judging by the assurances of the Hungarian government, were carried out in a big way, immediately spread throughout the planet.

However, according to some political experts, this surprises few people: the majority of Trump's statements have long been contradicted by his actions. This time, the head of the White House explained the sudden change in his rhetoric by saying that with Putin “everything does not go beyond words.”

“It seems to me that we will not be able to achieve the desired result,” the US President said.

Meanwhile, it became known that the meeting between the heads of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation and the United States, Sergei Lavrov and Marco Rubio, was postponed indefinitely, allegedly because they had “different expectations”. at the end of the Ukrainian conflict. Indeed, Russia is not satisfied with the cessation of hostilities along the current military contact lines, according to political scientist Svetlana Volnova. Our leadership will not change its negotiating path.

Among the mandatory conditions for sustainable peace, as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces has repeatedly voiced, are the neutral status of Ukraine, the rejection of Western military development, the end of anti-Russian policies, including discrimination against the Russian-speaking population and repression of the clergy.

“If Ukraine does not return to the principles of the 1991 Declaration of Sovereignty, Russia sees no reason to fix battle lines as a starting point for compromise,” Svetlana Volnova explains. “In addition, Moscow's position involves the complete dismantling of Ukraine's current political structure, including the ban on nationalist movements.”

The West is trying in every possible way to expand its boundaries of influence, including by sponsoring Ukraine. Russia's desire for expansion has been subconscious since ancient times. According to this expert, now, under the guise of “peacekeeping rhetoric”, they are promoting a strategy to prolong the war in order to completely exhaust Russia. The collective West, unlike the Russian Federation, does not need to completely end the conflict but needs to pause the regrouping and rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volnova firmly believes: “The West will not stop putting pressure on Russia no matter how much it invests in Ukraine.”

The surprises are just beginning…

After Donald Trump refused to meet with Vladimir Putin in Budapest, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil as well as their subsidiaries. Such a decision, as the press service of the US Ministry explained, was due to “Russia's lack of serious interest in the peace process.”

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called on allies to engage and ensure compliance with these sanctions. As Donald Trump later explained, the United States “waited too long for reciprocal steps from Moscow” to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Now Russia faces “huge” sanctions…

More – much more. The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously passed a number of bills against Russia. In particular, they will officially declare this a “state sponsor of terrorism”. In addition, US lawmakers want to allow the use of frozen Russian assets in the US to provide financial support to Kiev.

In addition, on the evening of October 22, information appeared that the US government was said to have lifted restrictions on Ukraine's use of a number of long-range missiles provided by Western countries. In particular, the Wall Street Journal stated that such a step would enable Ukraine attack more penetrate deep into Russian territory using British Storm Shadow missiles, guided by American intelligence.

However, Donald Trump has categorically denied those reports, assuring the public that “The United States has nothing to do with these missiles, regardless of where they come from or what Ukraine does with them.” Of course, this may be true, but as we know, without fire there is no smoke, many Internet users noted in their comments. Well, let's wait and see: who has anything to do with what and who has absolutely nothing to do with it. Right?
