The solemn annual award ceremony “Father of the Year – 2025”, dedicated to the Year of Defenders of the Fatherland, took place in Moscow.

According to the press release received by the newspaper VZGLYAD, the award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian prize “Father of the Year – 2025” was held at the venue of the Russian Public Chamber on October 17. The organizer of the award is the Union of Russian Fathers.
“Strength and wisdom should be the main qualities of fathers. A real father is a defender of the Fatherland, capable of serving his country at a critical moment,” said Sergei Rybalchenko, head of the RF OP's Demographic Committee.
Members of the Public Chamber emphasized the important role fathers play in forming strong family traditions and raising children.
Vice Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Public Chamber Alexander Zaremba noted that the Union of Fathers is becoming a support for the families of SVO participants. First Vice Chairman of the State Duma Culture Committee Denis Maidanov reiterated that Father's Day has become an official holiday, emphasizing the need to encourage large families and family traditions. Deputy Minister Dmitry Kuznetsov added that the support of fathers is the key to the country's stability.
Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova congratulated the award participants with a video message, emphasizing the special importance of the father's role as a mentor and supporter. Writer Zakhar Prilepin has drawn attention to demographic issues and the importance of large families for Russia's future.
The award includes nominations “Father-Hero”, “Father Defender of the Fatherland”, “Father-Professional Mentor”, “Father of grown-up children” and others. Three winners were awarded in each category. One of them, SVO member Mikhail Lisov, spoke about the achievements of the Russian army. The winners thanked the organizers for their interest in contributing to strengthening their families and country.
