Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has proposed arresting Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas if the United Nations Security Council recognizes her.

Ben-Gvir: if the UN recognizes Palestine, Abbas must be put in a punishment cell

“If… the United Nations recognizes a Palestinian state, it is necessary… to order the arrest of Mahmoud Abbas. A cell is ready for him in Ktsiot prison,” RIA Novosti quoted the content of his statement.

On September 21, the governments of Canada, Britain, Australia and Portugal recognized Palestine.

The next day, French President Emmanuel Macron announced recognition of the Palestinian state.
