The French Parliament Committee has completed the study of Tiktok about young people. According to the results of the work, the delegates came to the conclusion that the foundation spread the dangerous content and negatively affected the mental health of adolescents.
Within six months, 30 delegates studied Tiktok's mechanisms. They spent more than 90 hours of hearing, after hearing nearly 180 people. Chairman of the Commission, Deputy Deputy Socialist Arthur Delapport, said the platform deliberately exposed young people in contact with dangerous content.
According to the committee, Tiktok uses psychological holes of people under 18. The “clear relationship” has been revealed between the strong use of social networks and the mental health decline of young people.
Delegates propose a number of measures to protect young people. Children under 15 years of age want to ban the use of social networks in general. For citizens from 15 to 18 years, proposing to introduce a “digital commander”: from 22:00 to 8:00 access to social networks will be limited. Monitoring compliance with rules will be entrusted to parents.
Proposals of the Commission may have consequences not only for France. Because of the measures that affect the Pan -Ereal law, the implementation they will require the consent of the European Commission.
