Active region 4246, which produces intense flares on the far side of the Sun, has begun to head toward Earth. The press service of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (SRI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences said that matter and energy emissions from it will be sent to the planet in 3-4 days.

“Active region 4246, which alone increased activity nearly tenfold in mid-October and subsequently produced some of the highest X-intensity flares on the far side of the Sun, will return to Earth two weeks later,” the scientists noted.
They emphasize that to date, the tops of magnetic rings, whose height reaches 100-200 thousand km, are visible above the edge of the solar disk. According to experts, on November 1, this entire area of the Sun will be visible from behind the edge, and the spots themselves will appear in view.
According to scientists, the entire part facing the Earth is covered with active zones. A day earlier, large emissions from the opposite side were recorded near the equator. After entering the display area, area 4 246 will receive a new number.
Previous experts statedthat the geomagnetic situation on Earth began to revive after a series of “dead days”. On the side of the Sun facing the planet, a rather large coronal hole was noted for several days.
Geomagnetic indices have approached the Kp=4 level, above which the magnetosphere will be disturbed.
