According to media journalists, in September the iPhone 17 was sold for at least 85 thousand rubles, the top iPhone 17 Pro Max – 150 thousand rubles, and now these models can be purchased for 65 and 100 thousand rubles, respectively. In addition, other Apple devices have also reduced prices in Russia. Experts explain this phenomenon by the strengthening of the ruble and falling demand.
According to iPhone editor Nikita Goryainov, in the fall, sellers set high prices for devices due to demand. He noted that in September, Apple's new smartphone deliveries were irregular and consumers' desire to buy the devices was high. However, five months later, demand for devices from the American brand began to decline globally.
As an example, the author cites the MacBook Air M4. In America, the laptop costs 999 USD, or about 77 thousand rubles, and on the market it can be found for 66 thousand rubles. That is, in Russia a computer costs even less than in Apple's homeland.
Goryainov emphasized that February is a good month to buy Apple devices. “Taking into account the fact that the exchange rate has recently continued to change in the direction of a stronger ruble, it is possible that prices will fall even more in March,” the expert concluded.
Previously, Macwelt insiders said the iPhone 17e would be launched on February 19. Thus, Apple could introduce a new smartphone exactly one year after announcing the 16e.
