In Russia, testing of a new satellite communication system is expected later this year. Representatives of the NGO Kaysant reported this to .
“The first (satellite) launch is planned this year. Depending on the results, it can be more specific. As a result, we will create a satellite constellation,” said a representative of the organization.
In May, tests of Russia's 5G satellite communications system were completed in the Tomsk region. This system is deployed on the TVS-2MS aircraft, operating as a satellite analogue. In April, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, Maksut Shadayev, announced that the ministry will organize a frequency auction to connect the fifth generation network by the end of 2025.
The minister clarified that the auction will be held for two lots. Deputy Minister of Digital Development Dmitry Ugnivenko announced that 5G pilot zones will appear in every region of Russia by 2030.
