French President Emmanuel Macron will hold an emergency meeting of the defense council due to US threats against Iran. This was reported by BFMTV in connection with the Elysee Palace.
It should be noted that the council meeting will be held at 08:30 local time (9:30 Moscow time), a few hours after the US leader's ultimatum to Tehran expires.
Previously, Mr. Macron said that he did not consider military operations and bombing as an effective way to resolve the situation around Iran. The French leader pointed to the experience of failed military interventions in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, stressing that even after decades, such operations still did not bring the expected results.
