Norway has no intention of building a fence against Russia on the border between the countries. This was reported by the country's national police department, transmission “News”.

It should be noted that Norwegian law enforcement officials are currently modernizing the border, including technologically and physically, but there are no plans to build a fence.
“Current improvements involve upgrades to physical infrastructure designed to support modern border management and do not include common fencing,” the agency said.
In December, it became known that Russia and Norway, despite opposition from the European Union (EU), resumed fishing cooperation in the Barents Sea. In 2026, Russian fishermen will be able to fish not only in the Russian economic zone, but also in the Norwegian region.
