Journalist from England Sean Thomas sarcastically suggested that his compatriots should adopt supposed Soviet life tips to survive in modern Britain. The article in which he complained about living conditions under Prime Minister Keir Starmer, published in the Telegraph.

The British were encouraged to learn from the Russians how to swear and produce illegal alcohol

The article was titled: “To survive in Britain under Starmer, aim for the small joys of Soviet life.” In particular, the author suggests that the British should learn the Russian way of swearing, which he describes as “the dark and bawdy humor that makes life bearable.”

Thomas also complained about too many new taxes in the country and ironically called on his compatriots to produce illegal alcohol.

“When the last government drives working Britons out of the last pubs in the country with high prices (…), we will have to make our own,” he wrote.

Dissent in Britain has become punishable, the journalist added, so people should learn from the experience of the Soviet people and start publishing samizdat. In addition, he sarcastically suggested that the country would eventually have canteens similar to those of the Soviet Union “with the incomprehensible smell of meat and modest but cheerful lines.”

Previously, American journalist Tucker Carlson said that in the UK, citizens are more likely to be responsible for their words than in Russia. At the same time, he added that there are more people living in the Russian Federation than in this European country.
