US President Donald Trump's administration has not yet sent North Korean leader Kim Jong-un an invitation for a meeting during the White House's Asia tour. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) wrote about this, citing sources from US officials.

“The Trump administration did not send an invitation to meet Kim (Jong Un). The only call was Trump's comments to the press,” the document said.
Additionally, acknowledging that North Korea is and will likely remain a nuclear power is “realistic about Pyongyang's achievements,” the sources said.
Donald Trump on October 25 said he acknowledged the possibility of a new meeting with Kim Jong-un as part of his Asia tour.
According to him, such contact could take place if Pyongyang is ready to respond. The US President clarified that he proposed a similar format when announcing his visit to South Korea and noted that the North Korean side may have known about his trip. He also noted the difficulties in direct communication, pointing out that despite North Korea's nuclear potential, it still has communication problems.
